Analytical Chemistry
As one of the nation's oldest continuously operating environmental laboratories, our firm's full-service facilities provide a wide range of testing services. The Moore Twining analytical chemistry laboratory facilities are inspected and certified regularly by State and Federal Agencies, as well as our clients. We welcome you to a laboratory tour, scheduled at your convenience during business hours.
As an overview, our analytical laboratory consists of three major sections: Organics, Inorganic's, and Microbiology which assist in the determination of the quality of water, soil, and hazardous waste.
Our Volatile Organics section tests for such purgeable organic compounds as gasoline, fuel oxygenates and disinfection byproducts, whereas our Semi volatile Organics section extracts and analyzes pesticides and PCBs with a wide range of instruments such as gas chromatography, mass spectroscopy and liquid chromatography.
Water is commonly characterized by its mineral content and other inorganic parameters. Our Inorganic's section tests for wet chemistry analytes such as pH, EC, and TDS, but also conducts complex analyzes for metals (CAM 17, Toxic's, etc.) with a wide range of instruments such as atomic absorption and emission spectroscopy, inductively coupled plasma/mass spectroscopy, ion chromatography, etc.
As protection of potable water starts with assessment of microbiological activity, total and fecal coliforms and E. coli are determined each day in our Microbiology laboratory.
